Summer Camp LTC, Leysin

17th July 2019

Know yourself.

Like on the first day, this morning we had our programme director as a speaker. The main topic of today was body language, specifically how to read people. We also talked about choices and consequences, how they both affect each other, and Dave gave a strong personal exampe to illustrate this. Finally, an important take away message for the campers was to appreciate what one has in life.

In the afternoon, we went down to an area in Leysin that has both woods and a grassy area, which is perfect for the activities we had planned: instructive and team-building games. The campers were divided up into their three counsellor groups and did quite a few games which required good communication and collaboration. The weather was beautiful but the sun is also strong, so we had plenty of water breaks during this fun time. This was followed by a lot of free time.

The evening was dedicated to fun and relaxation inside. The main activity was skits: the campers got into groups and had to act out something they came up with. One group impersonated the counsellors in a "LTC talent show", another group came up with an alternative version of "Snow White" and the third group did a funny skit about blind dates. The winning team got chocolate. Campers then soent some time together and also went to bed earlier, as tomorrow will be a very long and exciting day.
