Summer Camp England
Monday, First Day !
Today the fun begins in Village Camps York ! Campers were excited to discover the camp and to make new friends from all over the world. During the morning Activity and Adventure program played ice breakers games as War of Colours. Kids were having fun and then came to lunch with many colours on their face !!!
During the first games of Football or Basketball, our coaches Josef (Football) and Max (Basketball) assessed the level of the campers' skills to be able to design a program fitted to their abilities. Similar assessment took place for Golf, Horse-riding, Performing Arts and English. We like to make sure we give our kids the attention they need from us to know their personal abilities and skill levels which helps them develop their proficiency.
Creative Arts started to discover their creative side with Marisa while Performing Arts started to work on their final session show with the help of our talented Performing Arts Coordinator Wallyce and her A-team : Effie, Vicky and Kate !
At 3PM, it was time for our All Camp Meeting in the Theatre. We read the Secret Friends Messages which are designed as an opportunity for the campers to send each other anonymous messages saying things they like about each other, about their counsellors or about the camp. Then Neil, the Camp director explained to everyone the rules of the Camp, assisting with a French, a Russian and a Chinese camper in order to represent some nationalities welcomed at Village Camps York for this second session! They did a great job explaining the other campers the rules in their own languages and it was great to hear them.
After dinner, campers spent their evening night with their colour groups playing games and then had to go to sleep and get some well-deserved rest for the next exciting day coming up.
- Breakfast: Bacon sandwich, assorted cereals and homemade muesli, fresh fruit, natural yoghurt.
- Lunch: Meat sauce and pasta served with garlic bread ans parmesan. Salad Bar. Baked Pears with a Qaty topping, fresh fruit.
- Dinner: Rosemary & lemon oven baked chicken, butternut squash & sage risotto, steamed new potatoes, courgettes. Salad bar> Stewed mapple apples & sultanas.
