Summer Camp England

6th July 2014

Tour de France Sunday!

Although Sunday is known as lazy day and a chance for our campers to catch their breath and prepare for another action packed week, it was far from lazy. Like Saturday, we had a later wake up which was greatly appreciated by all our campers and counsellors. After breakfast, the campers had a choice of using the playground, catching an extra nap in their rooms, chatting with friends by the "horse fountain" or set off on a hike to see the Tour the France.

Later on after lunch the colour groups took a rotation on 3 main activities. Yellows started off on the field with fun Sport & Games time with their counsellors while Reds got to start in the Muggles activity centre, a place of which all children dream in their sleep and Blue House held a room cleaning competition and visited the bank for next day excursion to York.

The highlight of the day for many was the brilliant Talent night held in our wonderful theatre space. The Talent at Village Camps York is always an amazing evening. This time we had two Pirates from The Carribean as our MCs introducing each of the camper's talents. The entertainment numbers were diverse. We had rap, singing, dancing, piano playing, guitar playing and many others! A really enjoyable and memorable night was had by all. At the end our Camp Director Glenn reminded everyone about the importance of getting enough sleep in anticipation of our action packed week ahead.
