The Biggest Night at Village Camps

Today was a flurry of music, colours, paint, dancing, singing, acting and costumes as the campers prepared for the biggest competition at Village Camps: Big Night . Counsellors and kids alike were in a frenzy as the time ran out to present their team's efforts.

Each team was given a theme and a colour and asked to 'make an entrance' in order to display their team spirit and creativity through a mix of dancing, music and skits. The Red Team turned campers into under the sea creatures whilst the Green Team were replaced by some funky disco dancers . The White Rockstars put on a great show as the Black team surfed their way to victory. The Wild, Wild West turned yellow whilst the Grey Outer Space, Orange Geeks, Medieval Purple and Blue Safari gave their all in order to entertain and wow the audience.

After all the opening acts had been performed it was time for some team building with relays, games and activities also part of deciding the winners for Big Night 2013. Village Camps was alive with chants, cheers and celebrations as each group took out a different crown. The counsellors gave the campers a break as they competed in their own relay in an effort to improve their teams standings and also presented their own group's mascot.

All in all it was an amazing night filled with fun, laughter, competition and a lot of exhausted campers. Special mention must go to the Red Team who took out the title for Big Night Winners 2013!! It looks like this year's efforts will be hard to beat, with even the judges impressed by both the competitive and creative efforts of every team.
