Programme Staff - Rock Climbing Specialist/Activity Counsellor

Rock Climbing Specialist leads climbing sessions and instructs techniques, introduces campers to equipment and demonstrates its proper use, and enables some to practice both climbing and belaying under supervision depending on the age of campers. Other duties involve assisting in creative, outdoor and sporting activities such as trekking, swimming, mountain biking, orienteering, arts and crafts, archery, drama, dance, horse riding, tennis, football and basketball. Additional responsibilities include supervising during meal times and excursions, participating in evening programmes and wake-up/lights-out duties.

Applicant must have qualifications such as the Single Pitch Award and/or extensive experience in teaching rock climbing. A first aid-CPR certification and a criminal background certification are mandatory requirements for this position.

The lifeguard/ Activity Counsellor leads swimming sessions in both indoor and outdoor pool environments. The lifeguard/ Activity Counsellor will work with campers of all swimming abilities from beginner to advanced level. Other duties involve assisting in creative, sporting and outdoor activities such as arts and crafts, football, volleyball, tennis, basketball,field hockey, hiking, mountain biking and adventure activities. Additional responsibilities involve supervising during meal times and excursions and planning for theme days and special events.

Applicant must be in possession of a lifeguard certificate and 1st Aid-CPR certification is required. A criminal background check is mandatory for this position.

Village Camps is looking to hire experienced STEM Robotics counsellors to join the STEM Robotics programme, working with international campers aged 10-17 years. The Village Camps STEM robotics programme works with LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Robotics and is an exciting way for or campers to learn the fundamentals of building and programming a range of different robots. This programme will be open to campers of all abilities. During the course, STEM Robotics counsellors will assist the STEM Robotics Leader in teaching: - The engineering design process - How to design and build structurally sound robots - LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 visual programming concepts - control of robotic responses through sensors and programming - Decision making structures - Team building and problem solving strategies The STEM Robotics counsellors will also be responsible for camper supervision during other sporting/ creative activities throughout the day, evening activities, weekend excursions and wake up and lights out duties.

Applicants must have experience working in STEM Robotics. Knowledge of the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robotics course is an advantage. Experience working in a residential camp environment is also an advantage. A basic first aid certification and criminal background check certification are mandatory requirements for this role.

Applicant must be experienced in digital video filming, editing and production and have experience in working with children in an residential and/or international environment. Other duties include leading a wide range of sporting, creative and outdoor activities such as trekking, swimming, orienteering, arts and crafts, drama, dance, horse riding, tennis, football and basketball. The camp driver will be required to drive the camp cars and 9 seat mini-vans to transport campers and staff members to various activity areas in the region. The camp driver will also be required to pick up camp supplies from local suppliers and supermarkets and transport them to various activity areas in the region. The camp driver will also be required to pick up campers form the local airport.

- Applicants must have at least 2 years driving experience and experience driving 9 seat mini-vans. - Applicants must be in possession of a clean driving licence and be experienced driving both manual and automatic transmission cars. - Please note that a basic first aid certification and clean police criminal background check are mandatory requirements for this position.
