Following the long-standing success of our Leadership Training Camp, Village Camps is pleased to introduce our new Learning To Lead (LTL) programme in Leysin.
Programme suitable for ages
Aimed at empowering younger campers aged 13 and 15, the Learning To Lead participants stay at our main camp and are very much a part of the whole Village Camps Leysin Summer Camp environment.
For 3 hours every weekday morning the LTL campers will participate in activities that teach leadership, team building, responsibility and independence as well as hearing from an international group of motivational and educational speakers.
This morning programme aims to introduce opportunities for participants to develop their leadership skills as well as beginning to understand goal setting and how to achieve results.
A series of speakers will present to the group on different aspects of life skills that are relatable to 13 and 15-year olds.
Presentations with subjects like goal setting, the importance of believing in yourself, selfconfidence and positive leadership will open the participants eyes to new ideas and potentials.
Specific LTL activities include
- Specially sourced motivational Presenters
- Excursions to the United Nations, CERN or International Olympic Museum to see and try to understand the leaders of today (as well as the Summer Camp Excursions)
- Working together as a team to develop and lead activities for different groups in the camp
- Working with counsellors from other parts of the camp leading younger campers
The afternoons and evenings will be spent with their peers from the other programmes at camp in a variety of fun and exciting activities.
More traditional camp activities take a different twist as we assign and discuss the values of different parts of the activities. Campers learn to facilitate change in their own lives, and we encourage responsibility by working with them to create expectations of behaviour and desired outcomes from camp and life in general.
We develop goals and strategies for achieving these goals in an exciting and engaging way. All the while having fun and developing new friendships and networks.

Choose your favourite specialty programme whilst combining it with professional tennis instruction from VC’s top coach, Christine Suard!
This additional option allows those that are passionate for tennis to combine their language, art, or multi-sports morning programme with qualified afternoon tennis instruction which will allow campers to improve significantly at both disciplines, morning and afternoon!
We are very fortunate to be partnered with such a qualified head-coach who has developed such a fantastic and innovative tennis programme which has three different categories from beginners to highly trained club players. We therefore wanted to give the opportunity to all campers regardless of programme (Adventure excluded) to opt for an additional 3 hours of tennis instruction in the afternoons!
In the evenings, campers join their peers who have been on afternoon activities for engaging evening programmes which will, at times incorporate the whole camp and other times be age group dependent.
Certainly, a programme not to be missed for those who are interested in professional swiss tennis instruction as well as other specialty programmes!
