Summer Camp LTC, Leysin
International Speaker and Mountain Hike!
In the morning, our LTC campers listened to international speaker Cameron Parker. During his presentation, he encouraged the group to get involved in the various assignments. They discussed various subjects, that were presented to the group. These included future aspirations and realistic and unrealistic dreams.
During the afternoon the group went on a hike with the Blues who didn’t go to the mountain hut. We then returned to camp via the switchbacks, which is a route through the trees, the route winds its way down a steep part of the hill, and though they found parts of the hike difficult they worked well and kept going.
The evening, involved preparing for their presentation of Event X. The campers were initially divided up into four groups, given a budget and transport restrictions. They then went on to research possible activities and decided on the one that they wished to present to the group. They would then look at the costs and keep within the assigned budget. This could involve contacting them to check availability and if they can accommodate the group size.
- Breakfast: Continental Breakfast and Scrambled Eggs
- Lunch: Salad Buffet, Chicken Curry (with vegetarian option), Basmati Rice, Wok Veggies, Pasta Station, Fresh Fruits.
- Dinner: Dinner: Salad Buffet, Lamb Chops (Vegetarian Option: Falafel Scallop), Gratin Dauphinois, Cauliflower, Pasta Station.
