Summer Camp LTC, Leysin
Canyoning and iceskating today!
Like every morning, today we had a new speaker: Scarlett Clark. She grew up in Italy and then moved to her home country, England; she started off as a teenage CEO and now has her own company about female empowerment. She taught the campers a few important lessons, such as believe in your dreams but work on them actively, what others think of you is none of your business, work hard and be yourself.
After an energising lunch, something needed for the afternoon, one of the most exciting and adventurous activities of the programme took place: canyoning, also known as gorge walking. We got onto the bus and headed to the same place where we went to for rafting, where we got off, geared up and got into the river for our walk through the gorge. The nature was breathtaking and the campers got to swim, walk, climb and best of all jump from cliffs of all sizes.
The fun was not over yet: during the evening programme we all went ice-skating at the rink in Leysin. For some campers, and some counsellors too, it was the first time ice-skating, so everyone got to help each other, laugh a bit and have loads of fun.
