Summer Camp LTC, Leysin
Feel the Olympic spirit
This morning straight after breakfast we went by bus to explore the Olympic museum in Lausanne. The Olympic Games run through the history of humanity and unite the entire world.
The Olympic Movement is a story of friendship, mutual respect and exchange. The games bring women and men of every country together around shared values.
On 3 floors, we could see the exhibition which presents the origin of the games, the competitions and the athletic spirit through over 150 screens and 1500 objects: The Olympic torches and medals of all The Olympic games, as well as the equipment of the most famous athletes.
Our LTC campers adored slipping into the skin of an athlete thanks to the many interactive activities.
After we had a lovely picnic by the Lake Geneva and the view over the Alps.
Then we moved to the center for a break. Our campers had a time to do the shopping or exploring a bit more the center of Lausanne.
When we came back to Leysin we could refresh our body by nice shower and relaxing a bit before dinner at the hotel.
In the evening the campers where shown basic and sample self defense techniques by Dave Allen.
The campers split off into pairs to practice the different technique. These techniques are taught to allow the LTC campers to have a sample form of Self Defense to allow them to defend themselves. As the normal reaction is to freeze when suddenly being attached. It will help them in those first few seconds of an attack.
