Excursion to Manchester

The weekend has finally arrived and it is finally time for the shopping that we were all expecting. The campers were also allowed their first sleep in as a weekend treat before setting of on their journey to Manchester.

But there wasn't much time for resting as each of colour groups were piled on to a bus straight after breakfast for their first excursion at Village Camps. After a scenic bus ride through country England, Village Camps arrived in Manchester to spend their day at the Trafford Centre, one of the largest indoor shopping centres. After a quick explanation of the day, campers were allowed some time to themselves and their friends as they shopped 'til they dropped.

After a little bit more exploration and some lunch, each colour group were treated to a movie at the Odeon cinema. The yellow boys and girls got to see How To Train Your Dragon 2, with plenty of laughs had by both the campers and the counsellors whilst the Blue and Red campers went to watch the movie The Guardians of Galaxy who just came out.

After the movies it was time for some more shopping, with our campers loving the chance to explore a little bit of Manchester. But time flies when you're having fun and very soon it was time for dinner time and the bus home, for the yellows and reds first and then the blue group a little bit later.

All in all, the Manchester excursion is one that campers and counsellors alike enjoy and have many new and exciting memories from. The movies and the shopping meant that this year it was safe to say that everyone had an amazing day out!
