The highly popular Village Activity Camp was successfully restructured in 2009, giving all campers an opportunity to focus on a wide range of interesting and challenging activities from which they can choose their favourite programme for the mornings right throughout their stay. In the afternoons the programme concentrates on the popular traditional visits at the heart of this established programme.
The Swiss Activity Camp Clubs in 2012 are:
Outdoor Adventure Club
This is a programme that takes full advantage of the opportunities provided by an exceptional setting in the Swiss Alps, providing campers choice of activities that are rarely available together in one place. Every weekday morning is made up of exciting outdoor activities that include biking along mountain paths, white water rafting and hiking in the mountains to spend the night in a mountain hut. Some of the activities start from the Leysin base camp and others are in neighbouring areas. The course caters for every active camper from the newcomer interested in discovering outdoor adventure for the first time to those with experience.
The focus of this camp is not only to have fun with these invigorating activities but also to develop the vital skills needed to safely enjoy the outdoors. Well trained Village Camps staff will adjust each activity to match the skill level and experience of each camper. The result is that the activity programme is both thrilling and safe giving the camper assurance and self-confidence.
This programme is designed for active campers who main interest is sports. With a pre-set sporting programme in the morning and the broader based camp activities in the afternoon, campers are given the chance to focus on sports but still experience the exciting adventure activities on offer. With the many different sports facilities available in Leysin, campers have a chance to play and develop skills in many different sports.
Every weekday morning campers in the Sports Club will be participating in their favourite activities, improving their skills and trying out new sports. Experienced and qualified staff will lead the campers in their chosen sports, not only to improve individual performance levels but developing team work too.
Designed for campers who love modern dance and performing and who want to create, rehearse and ultimately perform their specialities at shows during camp. For 3 hours every weekday the campers meet in the grand salon to work on performances that will be presented to the rest of camp at various times during the session culminating with a Gala performance on the final Prom Night.
The campers spend mornings choosing and working on their music, dance routines and choreography. Every type of music and dance is incorporated in the presentation. Costumes have to be made, stage lighting worked on and rehearsals structured. This busy schedule is supervised by a very experienced programme director and a dedicated staff team that motivates the campers in their individual quests whilst teaching them the importance of team work.
Whether you are a trained dancer or someone who just likes to move to the music this dance programme has something for you. Professional staff work with every camper’s skill level to help them achieve the confidence and pride to give a great performance.
