If you intend to study in any native English-speaking country, as well as many other world-recognized universities, you will most likely have to pass an IELTS test. This test confirms that you have the proficiency to study in the English language. The perfect way to prepare yourself for this test is incorporating the prep into an extremely fun summer camp experience!
The International English Language Testing System (IETLS) is recognized by higher education providers as well as various governments and employers worldwide. The test itself focuses on four pillars of language learning which will be covered in Village Camp’s exam preparation programme. The programme will also cover testing strategies and time management that allow our campers finish their two weeks at camp feeling ready and confident.
Our campers develop skills in each of these criteria in order to achieve the best results:
Listening: listening and understanding specific information, listening for specific spoken cues as well as note-taking. Reading: working on content absorption and speed-reading strategies, as well as the understanding and retention of important information. Writing: working on grammatical range and accuracy, structural flow of writing and paragraph organization, expanding the lexical range. Speaking: developing pronunciation, fluency and grammatical range.
The course will take place for three hours every morning and then IELTS-Prep campers will join other campers to enjoy exciting afternoon activities in their own age groups.
Test available during camp
If campers come to camp prepared to sit their IELTS and simply want to use the two weeks at camp to polish off and perfect their English Language skills, then VC will arrange their IELTS test registration at one of the accredited test-taking centres in Austria. These tests are roughly EUR 250.- and this will be charged in addition to the camp price.
