Programme Overview

Village Camps was a pioneer in the organisation of top-class football camps in the early 70s. The high standards set then have continued to improve, football programme better than ever.

The success of this programme is due to the excellence of the coaching standards in place. The highly qualified Neil O’Donnell, has been part of our team for the past 10 years. Neil has devised an exciting modern coaching programme that is enjoyed by our young footballers and admired by other coaching organisations. Neil is a UEFA ‘B’ coach and became the Executive Director of the programme in 2018. He directs our experienced and qualified coaching team. Our shared commitment is to bring out the very best in the young footballers in our care.

Coaching takes place for 3-hours every weekday morning on the state-of-art training and playing facilities throughout the village. The players are divided into age and ability groups. The dedicated coaching team works hard and enthusiastically to develop individual skills and techniques. Towards the end of the morning session there are usually short competitive games where players, their skills and team tactics are assessed and discussed.

One of the highlights of the football camp is the much anticipated ‘Big Match’ which happens in the last days of the Camp session and is attended by all campers. Our young footballers play against the Coaches & Counsellors team, for the much-prized ‘Village Camps Cup’.

This additional option allows those that are passionate for tennis to combine their language, art, or multi-sports morning programme with qualified afternoon tennis instruction.

Our highly qualified head-coach has developed a fantastic and innovative tennis programme which has three different categories from beginners to highly trained club players. We wanted to give the opportunity to all campers regardless of programme (Adventure excluded) to opt for an additional 3 hours of tennis instruction in the afternoons!

In the evenings, campers join their peers who have been on afternoon activities for engaging evening programmes which will, at times incorporate the whole camp and other times be age group dependent.
