Spring Outdoor Education Camps

France

The Ardèche River flows through a magnificent wooded canyon, deep in the heart of central France. It is shallow, warm, and great for novices. This area is also recognised as one of Europe's best speleological centres, with vast caverns centuries old. The famous Pont d'Arc, a 70m high natural bridge spanning the river, is less than one kilometre from our campsite. Our private campsite is alongside the riverbank, about 2 kilometres from Vallon Pont d'Arc. Self-service meals are eaten together with campers and counsellors outside on the terrace overlooking the river. Unlike at other camps where you may be assigned the role of cabin leader and are required to share accommodations with a group of campers, our staff members share only with other staff. Tents with one to three sprung beds, mattresses and ground sheets are provided, and bathrooms with shower facilities are located nearby. Our clients come from international schools throughout Europe. Most schools bring children as a class or as a school for a period of five to seven days. Groups vary in size from 20-100 students and range from Grade 3 to 12. Each programme is planned to meet the school's specific needs.
