Spring Outdoor Education Camps
Switzerland
Nestled in scenic mountain resorts, the towns of Leysin located above lake Geneva near Montreux, Anzère and Les Collons located above the city of Sion in the Valais region, are ideal homes for our Swiss outdoor education programmes.
Leysin is well known for its International mountaineering, sports and educational community as well as being a family resort. Our groups are housed in the Grand Hotel, an historical building from the early 1900’s or our rustic Chalet les Fougères.
Anzère where its hiking and biking trails are plentiful, has a small town atmosphere and is well suited for our programmes. The Chamossaire is a rustic yet comfortable chalet. Occasionally we use nearby hotels if we are working with larger groups.
Les Collons has everything we could want from an Outdoor Education Centre, plus stunning views of the Grande Dixence Dam and high Alpine peaks, including the Matterhorn.
At all locations, accommodations are in multi-bedded rooms and are shared with counsellors, not students. There are communal showers and toilet facilities on each floor. The buildings also have a dining room, games area and sitting room. All meals are prepared by our chef on site. The majority of our clients come from international schools throughout Europe. They come to Village Camps seeking fun and adventure in a safe and caring environment. We work with schools so that we become an extension of the classroom and explore themes and subjects that are an important part of the school's curriculum. Most schools bring children as a class or grade year and stay for a period of five to seven days. Groups vary in size from 20-100 students and range from Grade 3 to 12. Each programme is planned to meet the school's specific needs. |
