It was a Special final day at Summer Day Camp 2013 with lots of fun and laughter as we have been having throughout the last six weeks.
We had the skit to begin this morning where all the senior counsellors overcame the Dark Destroyer to make Camp a happy place once again. For a bad guy,
the Dark Destroyer isn't very good because he's lost out on all three occasions to our counsellors. I guess Village Camps really do have the best
counsellors in the world! Then the 9s and Senior groups all went for a final splash at the pool in the morning whilst everyone else played specially
devised games on the sports field for mini-Olympics. There was a spot of face-painting too amongst the games of petanque, musical statues and relay races!
We had everyone's favourite for lunch of Burgers with Salad Bar that was enjoyed by Campers and Staff alike! Shortly afterwards, the Carnivale started the
Campers had fun winning prizes by playing the various games on offer such as skittles, basketball, football, jenga with cups, bean bag toss and hoop catch.
The final performance of this year was Through the Decades with Village Camps and the children did themselves proud showing off their
work to the parents. With two of our Campers trapped in a time machine, we were treated to a selection of songs from the decades since the 60's and the
groups each did a dance to accompany each stop they made in time. We heard songs by The Beatles, ABBA, Wham!, Michael Jackson, S Club, David Guetta and
Rihanna; a good mix of different styles from the last 50 years! The children can be proud of ll the dances and words they learned to the songs because it
was a great show.
So that's it for this 2013 session of Day Camp at Coppet. All the Village Camps staff have really enjoyed contributing to the Campers summer fun and hope
you have all had as much fun as we have. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2014 for next years fun.
Have a great year Campers!
