THE PROGRAMME - FUN'S THE THING, LEARNING'S THE OBJECTIVE, DAY AND NIGHT |
|
| |
The typical VILLAGE CAMPS day is divided into four main activity periods: two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Campers are assigned to groups according to their camp choice, then by age and/or skill levels. Weekday mornings are devoted to the specialty of each camp. During the first afternoon activity period, campers in Language and Creative Arts join together, usually by age, and choose from a selection of activities. In all other programmes (Performing Arts, Tennis, Football, Adventure & Activity and Leadership), campers remain in their speciality during the first afternoon period, after which they join the rest of the camp in an array of outstanding activities for the balance of the afternoon. Present at all times is a great group of dedicated, experienced counsellors who are fun, friendly, caring and helpful.
The VILLAGE CAMPS evenings are like a fanfare of fun-filled frolics with challenging games, spectacular events and even time for a bit of quiet relaxation as well. Traditional VILLAGE CAMPS happenings include indoor and outdoor Olympic-style meets and matches, disco dancing and competition, talent night, team challenges and cinema treats. Two memorable highlight events are International Night, where youngsters, individually or within a group sharing a particular nationality, prepare and present traditional national dishes, and the ever-popular Prom Night, the last night, devoted to performances by campers and staff, along with the presentation of a veritable cornucopia of awards … everyone is a winner! |
