More Fun, More Learning in a truly international environment
in the best summer alpine village in Switzerland |
|
| |
|
|
| |
WHERE |
|
| |
Leysin is considered the alpine educational capital of Switzerland. Located 1200 meters above Lake Geneva, there is a clear view across the Rhone valley to the distant French Alps. Montreux (30 minutes) and Geneva with its international airport are within easy reach. The facilities and infrastructure of Leysin cannot be surpassed which is why camps and schools abound throughout the year. |

ACCOMMODATION |
|
| |
All programmes (except for the Leadership and Village SuperCamp© which take place in another nearby Swiss Hotel), are housed in the spacious Grand Hotel, which serves as the site
of Schiller University during the school year. Recently refurbished
and renovated, it is an incredible building dating from the last century,
with
unparalleled character and personality.
Spacious rooms, accommodating up to five campers, have toilets and showers
en suite and most have balconies overlooking the Vaudoise Alps. Campers are assigned to rooms according to age and gender and
experienced counsellors are responsible for taking special care of each
camper. The hotel can welcome up to 180 guests.
During free time, there are wonderful village cafes with internet that
can be visited and enjoyed with newly made friends from around the
world.
Healthy, varied food, adapted for all diets and prepared by VILLAGE CAMPS ’ chefs, is presented with no restriction on quantities. |

CAMP ORGANISATION |
|
| |
Days are normally divided into
four main activity periods. Campers are assigned to groups according to
age and/or skill levels. Generally, mornings are devoted to the specialty
of each camp (Tennis, Language) or a programme of the new Club activities (listed
below for the Activity Clubs). During the afternoons,
campers
from all programmes join together, usually by age group, and choose from
a selection of these..
What is always present is a great group of counsellors who
are fun, friendly, caring and helpful. |

EVENING PROGRAMMES |
|
| |
Evenings are filled with exciting
imaginative games, spectacular events and relaxing activities. These
include discos, team-building challenges, International cuisine festival,
plays, music shows, plenty of games geared to age levels, village outings,
films, talent show, and much more. A wide selection of camp equipment
includes a full drum battery and several quality electric guitars. These
are available to campers with appropriate experience. Lessons may be
offered as part of the evening programme. One evening experience, if
there is interest and talent, is to form a camper band to play at the
discos
or in the talent show. |
