A spectacular mountain and lakeside experience in Austria

WHERE

Situated in a glorious countryside, in a valley of mountains and glacier caps, the quaint village of Piesendorf is the home of the Austrian Village Camp. It is located one and a half hours from Salzburg and five minutes from the renowned resort of Zell am See.

ACCOMMODATION

The Chalet Notburgahof is a magnificently constructed wooden chalet, with rooms & balconies offering views photographers dream about. The chalet has a fully-equipped on-site multi-purpose gym for sports and evening activities, as well as language classrooms, video-making studio with Imacs, internet café, conference room and disco. For outdoor entertainment, there are two all-season tennis courts, badminton courts, ping-pong tables and chessboard sites.

Spacious rooms, accommodating three to five campers, each have toilets, showers and the amenities of home. Campers are assigned to rooms according to age and gender and a staff of trained counsellors are responsible for seeing to the safety, care and special needs of each camper. The chalet can welcome up to eighty guests.

CAMP ORGANISATION

Whether in the German Language, English Language, Mountain & Lake Adventure, Riding or Film Camps, the entire programme will be part of the film production.  With an extremely talented director in place, the film storyboard will include all aspects of the programme.  Activities and languages will be part of the film and everyone will get much more out of the experience.  This is a new, very exciting development which will greatly benefit all participants.

Mornings are devoted to the chosen camp while the afternoons will integrate everyone into a film production.  Evenings will consist of challenging events and the atmosphere created will greatly add to the pleasure and joy of each camper.  Do click on the Film Camp.

What is always present is a great group of counsellors who are fun, friendly, caring and helpful.

EVENING PROGRAMMES

Evenings are filled with exciting and imaginative games, spectacular events and relaxing activities. These include discos, indoor Olympics, team-building challenges and plenty of games geared to age levels, with village outings and much, much more.

EXCURSIONS

Several popular and informative excursions are planned with the actual number to take place depending upon the weather and desires of campers. Some of the choices are:

Salzburg - Birthplace of Mozart - An excursion day to Salzburg is held once per session. Campers are introduced to Austrian culture thanks to visits to historic sites as well as to current ones. Trip includes visit to:

  - Bishop’s Palace at Hellbrun
- Salt Mines at Hallein
- Shopping in Salzburg

Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse - Campers pass through one of the most spectacular, unspoilt landscapes on the globe. Meadows, woods, alpine pastures, rocks and ice await campers before the final view of the Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain (3798m).

Krimml Waterfalls - Dropping in three stages a total of 380 metres, it is the only Austrian landmark to receive the European parliament’s Nature Preservation Diploma in 1967.

Mountain Hut Overnight - The highlight of the camp: an exciting hike through the scenic Austrian Alps culminating with an overnight stay in a traditional mountain hut in the area with breath-taking views over the valley below.
