The six year olds spent the day up in Signal de Bougy, visiting the animals in the small zoo, playing in the enormous playground, and of course, baking their own bread, which normally end up being the shape of superheroes, dinosaurs, or wild animals, hopefully there will have baked a bit extra for the rest of us, since it is always delicious!
The Five’s headed off to the Nyon Piscine this morning and had ideal weather conditions for some sunbathing and swimming, not to mention volleyball, table tennis and football, all of which can be played at the Nyon Piscine because of the brilliant lay- out and space that there is. The Seven’s went to the pool after lunch (beef macaroni and cheese.)
The Seniors had a relaxed day of boomerang construction up at the top field here on Campus. They spend all morning or afternoon doing the activity, and although they do not construct the boomerangs from scratch, they do paint and decorate them, as well as learning the correct techniques to throw and catch them. I won’t lie- it is very difficult and initially the results were disastrous, but they got the hang of it very quickly and by the end of the first hour nearly all the boomerangs were flying in a circle and coming back to their owners. Meanwhile SA1 and SB1 went to Gland for the afternoon to bowl, and once again the counselors were (surprisingly) outclassed by many of the campers.
All in all it was another very successful day at camp and we’re are just hoping that the weather holds out and next week is as pleasant as this week and that campers and staff alike have as much fun as we have had up to now.
