The weather has remained cool and cloudy this morning but it has not dampened the spirits of LTC. The campers were still jazzed from Scott’s presentation and the drums yesterday.
After breakfast, we set off for the local sports facility for the LTC version of the World Cup. In this case it was Europe vs. The World. Campers were extremely passionate in their play. The campers even took a leadership role in organization, rules and conduct for the match. A great game was played that thoroughly tested both physical and mental stamina. Then it was back to the hotel for lunch and getting prepared for the afternoon.
Our groups split in two for round two of the Amazing Day or a visit to the Ropes Course in Aigle. While the campers were hanging from trees, the participants of the Amazing Day were hard at work. Their task was one of teamwork, organization, lateral thinking and leadership. Given a budget, they were asked to complete specific tasks around Leysin in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of money. This was very complex and required significant planning and determination.
In the evening, we have a very famous speaker talking to us about the power of perseverance both spiritually and physically. His name is Kerry Max Cook. His story of being wrongfully incarcerated in the state of Texas and put on death row for 19 years is powerful and unforgettable. The real life story has been made into a play, book and a movie. What an incredible day and night!
Tomorrow we have a lesson on stress management in the morning, a split of group activities in the afternoon and a televised magician Chris Korn in the evening.
The fun continues!!
