Camp Journal - Cork, Ireland

This is Rob's 3rd Summer at Village Camps

 Rob is our Programme Manager and has working for Village in Ireland, England and Switzerland.

He is from Pennsylvania USA and is presently living in Florida.

Rob has travelled extensively and enjoys football and Gator sports.

At VC Rob has enjoyed meeting many wonderful new staff and campers and aims to keep in contact with many he has already met.

Rob hopes to live a life less ordinary and his interesting fact is that he was the best man at his parent's wedding!

Horse show and lunch out for the riders ... 

But the most expected event today was the Disco Night.

Another dry day apart from a few spots.

The riders went to a local horse show and had lunch out. The golfers split into 2 teams and the winners were Carlos' team. The English group reviewed previous tasks and worked in the college teaching rooms.

During supper in the bistro we enjoyed watching the Open Golf on a big screen.

2nd Photo Challenge (TALE) at Ballincollig

We split the group into 8 teams and they had over an hour to answer 22 questions and take 25 photos!It was quite ambitious and no team completed all the tasks. Some concentrated on one part of the town or the shopping centre or taking as many photos while others answered the questions and found the clues. Although quite a few were tired today by 16.00 most of the team members made an effort to contribute something and do their best. Tomorrow we review the photos and see the results.

Disco Night

At last a disco - an event that many had been waiting for! It took place upstairs above the bistro. Damien closed his eyes and opened his ears and set up the mixers and speakers as DJ for the disco …Rachel stood in as photographer and captured some magic moments including the older Spanish boys and the golf counsellor (Jude)
entering dressed as ladies with make up etc ... The dancing and party soon got into full swing and all enjoyed a soft drink and some snacks. The Blues got to stay a little later and all retired tired but happy after another active day at VC Cork!

The end of the 2nd week soon…time passes fast!
