Today was a normal day at Village Camps, Switzerland. That means there was nothing really normal about it. The greens spent some time in quarry learning about mountain climbing, other activities included archery, hiking, swimming, tennis, orienteering, etc. There was a “murder mystery” evening for the Yellow Group and the Blues were treated to a Casino Night in the Cave.
The story below is about the Cave and the Casino Night and that is followed by the Photo Gallery for today – gallery includes a number of mountain climbing photos, archery photos, and other activities around camp.
The best way to cheer yourself up
is to try to cheer somebody else up.
The Cave is one of the favorite places at Village Camps, Switzerland. The Cave is where the Tuck Shop is – a place to buy candy, ice cream, crisps, and even such things as Village Camps caps. The Cave has pool tables, foosball tables, dart boards, couches and easy chairs for lounging, lots of games and other fun things. The Cave is supervised by Kay who rules with an iron fist – that is covered with a velvet glove.
Tonight the cave was set up as a casino for the Blue Campers. Everyone was given a supply of Village Camps "money" to use in playing the games.
The counsellors served as the dealers, croupiers, etc. and had as much fun as the campers. There was a chance to play roulette, or blackjack, or a number of other "games of chance."
The object, of course, was to win as much money as possible but there aren't many places where you can spend your winnings and the exchange rate is something fierce - but no one cares about that, the real goal was to have fun and that goal was met just like a Royal Flush will win at poker.
