Pains au chocolat made another early morning brighter…

Jumping, swimming, dropping and squeezing through the Canyon or low ceilings, mud pits and slippery slopes in the Caves, there is adventure for all tastes.

As yet another two groups readied themselves for canyoning the French groups loaded a bus and travelled to Chassazac gorge an hour and half West of camp. After dressing in full coverage wet suits and harnesses
they trudged down into the canyon and began a day of jumping, swimming, dropping and squeezing through the obstacles of the vast gorge. They all returned with smiles on their faces.

Activity one participated in caving this morning. Using candle light and limited head lamps they again depended on eachother to navigate through the low ceilings, mud pits and slippery slopes. Meanwhile activity two completed the approximately 6km trail leading them through vineyards and the rocky terrain of the French countryside.

Activity one and Activity two as well as the Activity three bandana session were organized at the local crag for an afternoon of rock climbing. Seven ropes allowed
campers of all climbing abilities to succeed. The campers helped to belay eachother and took turns dominating most of the routes.

Another session of canoeing tested the paddling skills of Activity group three. The early heat made the activity a welcomed event as the kids were able to capsize in order to cool themselves. The campers’ advanced ability of paddling will be put to the test in tomorrow’s mini descent. In the afternoon the group was able to choose
bandana activities. Canoeing and Rock climbing were agreed upon. Skills in both sports were developed through fun and games.

After another wonderful creation by Mario the kids set off to prepare for THE EGG SHOOT! In teams the campers put their heads together and scientifically prepared to keep their eggs alive whilst getting a single blow by a bat. A difficult feat….

Refreshing night breezes kept the campers cool in their tents allowing them to drift off and re-energize for the events of Thursday.
