Camp Journal - Cork, Ireland

Miracle ... 

We had no rain today and quite a bit of sun!

The English group enjoyed completing a project in small groups in Cork and came back to review what happened and share their experiences and any new vocabulary learned. The Golfers played some more holes after a session on the driving range.....the weather is perfect for golf!

Today we focused on the riders and the lovely Irish countryside surrounding the stables. Stand by for some photos of their adventure riding along the sandy beach later in the week. After the all camp meeting and the notorious Kangaroo Court the camp had some challenges along a nature trek nearby and enjoyed some team building activities.

As we were off to enjoy bowling and Laster Tag in the evening the group took a break from the bistro and enjoyed some Chinese cuisine. All kinds of dishes accompanied by rice and noodles.

As you can see the group had a good time at the Bowling and Leisure Centre in Cork and on their return went straight to their appartments after another full and busy day.

This is Rick's 2nd Summer at Village Camps

He is from the USA and is one of our more outgoing and energetic staff members organising many of the activities and leadership sessions.

As a teacher Rick is experienced working with youngsters and a great motivator and organiser with a good sense of humour! In fact, he hopes to run
his own summer programme in future and has big ambitions and hopes.

He enjoys golf (and is hoping to sneak away for a day to play golf and not be missed.....some hope!), tennis and flamenco dancing. This year Rick has travelled to Panama and Boston. 

Rick's interesting fact is that earthworms have 5 hearts.
