Another exciting event was the Banana Boat ride for the yellows around the silver-blue waters of Lake Zell. This fun adventure was enjoyed by campers and counselors alike—everyone had more than one spill to laughingly report when they returned to camp, wet but enthused!
After another great lunch provided by the chef at Notburgahof, the afternoon’s activity centered around a counselor hide and seek game. The campers were divided into groups whose job it was to find the counselors. The counselors, after dressing up in creative costumes, hid themselves around Piesendorf. Much laughter and excitement filled the sunny afternoon as campers and counselors enjoyed the chase. After a quick regrouping (and some hilarious photos!) the whole camp took a fun break at the town’s swimming pool for a much needed cool down.
In the evening, the campers were split into their color groups. The yellows experienced music, story-telling, and some relaxation at our campfire down at the meadow camping area. Guitar music completed the starry night. The reds, on the other hand, took a hand at “gambling” during our casino night. The games included roulette, black jack, cheat, bingo, and dice poker. After such an active and stimulating day, most were grateful to finally fall into bed, pleasantly exhausted.
