Camp Journal - Zell am See, Austria

The latest news and photos appear at the top. Come back every day to see what's new here at "Summer Camp Europe" - Village Camps!

Daily News 30th June

Our first full day at camp in Zell am See has been a whirlwind of fun and exciting activities!! The Multi-Activity groups started off with the Red group heading to the Pool and playing a action-packed game of Ultimate Frisbee and the Yellows went on a Sigmund Thun Klamm gorge walk. English and German language classes had a great first lesson and enjoyed getting to know their class and teachers. The Film Camp enjoyed brainstorming some ideas for their own movies.

This afternoon campers selected activities out of Football, Hockey, Tennis and Team Building. It was nice to have the sun come out and enjoy the outdoors. After dinner the Reds went to the Rock Climbing wall to do some climbing and also played some Volleyball while the Yellows had a blast playing ball games in our sports hall. WOW what a busy first full day!! We will all sleep well tonight!!

By the way, here are some photos from the first day!  There's a lot more to come.

30 June - 1st Day of Camp

Welcome to Village Camps Austria!

Welcome to Village Camps Austria!

This website will give you daily updates on activities and events of the Austria camp, as well as many pictures of all the campers.

This year's Austria camp director once again is Tim. Read his welcoming letter below:

After a fun filled and action packed staff orientation week, everyone here in Zell am See is excited for the campers to arrive!

The programme has grown and the numbers for arrival day are on target. Today we will be welcoming 80 campers from all around the world into 5 different programmes. We welcome back some familiar campers and some new ones as well.

Over the next two weeks all the campers will have the chance to swim, kayak, sail, windsurf, climb, rodelbahn, sleep out in a mountain hut, mountain bike, ice skate, visit the Krimml waterfalls, as well as visit Salzburg and hike in the Tyrol Alps!

All this makes me want to be a camper again! It promises to be a fantastic opening.

Tim - Austria Camp Director
